      Initially, amount of milk = (7/12) × 288 = 168 litres Amount of water = (5/12) × 120 = 50 litres 48 litres of mixture is replaced. Amount of milk replaced = 48 x (7/12) = 28 Amount of water replaced = 48 x (5/12) = 20 So, required ratio = (168 – 28):(120 – 20 + 48) = 140:148 = 35:37
