Ratio of copper to tin in the alloy = 7:1 Let the quantity of copper and tin in the alloy be 7x kg and x kg, respectively. According to question, 7x = x + 30 x = 5 kg So, the quantity of new alloy = 7x + x + 30 = 8x + 30 ⇒ 40 + 30 = 70 kg
