    • Question

      A wheel travels 5.28 km in 60 complete revolutions.

      Calculate the diameter of the wheel. (Use π = 22/7)
      A 30 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 28 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 17 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 36 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ,

      5.28 km = 5.28 × 1000 = 5280 metres

      Circumference of the wheel = 5280 ÷ 60 = 88 metres

      Let the radius of the wheel be 'x' metres

      Circumference = 2πr

      ATQ:

      88 = 2 × (22/7) × x

      x = 14

      Diameter = 14 × 2 = 28 metres
