Solution
Let the length and breadth of rectangle = x and x – 10 cm Perimeter of rectangle = 2 x [Length + Breadth] According to the question Perimeter of rectangle = 64 cm ⇒ 2 x [Length + Breadth] = 64 ⇒ x + x – 10 = 32 ⇒ Length = x = 21 cm Breadth = (x – 10) = 11 cm Area of rectangle = Length x Breadth Area of rectangle = 21 x 11 Area of rectangle = 231 cm²
