    Rs. 4200 was distributed among 'P', 'Q', 'R' and 'S' in the

    ratio 2:5:4:3 respectively. Later, 'Q' gave an amount equal to 80% of the average amount received by 'P' and 'S' to 'R'. Find the average amount with 'P' and 'R' now.

    ATQ,

    Initial amount with 'P' = 4200 × (2/14) = Rs. 600

    Initial amount with 'R' = 4200 × (4/14) = Rs. 1200

    Initial amount with 'S' = 4200 × (3/14) = Rs. 900

    Amount given by 'Q' to 'R' = {(600 + 900) ÷ 2} × 0.80 = 750 × 0.80 = Rs. 600

    Final amount with 'R' now = 1200 + 600 = Rs. 1800

    Therefore, required average = (600 + 1800) ÷ 2 = Rs. 1200
