The average of two numbers is 6 more than the smaller
number among them. If the greater number is 100% more than the smaller number, then find the sum of the two numbers.Solution
Let the smaller number be 4x.
Greater = 2 × 4x = 8x.
ATQ, 4x + 6 = (4x + 8x) / 2 = 6x
⇒ x = 3
Sum = 12x = 12 × 3 = 36.
