Question
A region observed an average rainfall of 130 cm during the
first four days of a week, while the last four days had an average of 135 cm. If the total weekly average was 133 cm, find the rainfall on the fourth day.Solution
ATQ,
Total rainfall for the first four days = 130 × 4 = 520 cm
Total rainfall for the last four days = 135 × 4 = 540 cm
Total rainfall for the whole week = 133 × 7 = 931 cm
Rainfall on the fourth day = {(520 + 540) – 931} = 129 cm
