The average number of laddus distributed among five children is 14. If each child received 1 laddu more than the child before, then find the highest number of laddus received by any child.
Solution
Let the laddus received by 1st child be ‘x’
According to the question,
(x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3 + x + 4) = 14 × 5
Or, 5x + 10 = 70
Or, 5x = 60
Or, x = 12
Therefore, highest number of laddus received by any child = (x + 4) = 16
