    Let the present age of Tarun be ‘x’ years.

    Present age of Karan = ‘x + 4’ years

    Present age of Naman = ‘x + 6’ years

    According to the question,

    (x + 4 + 3)/(x + 6 + 3) = 7/8

    Or, (x + 7)/(x + 9) = 7/8

    Or, 8(x + 7) = 7(x + 9)

    Or, 8x + 56 = 7x + 63

    Or, x = 7

    So, present age of Tarun = 7 years
