Let present ages of ‘Amit’ and ‘Bishnu’ be ‘4x’ years and ‘5x’ years, respectively. ATQ: {(4x + 7)/(5x + 7)} = (5/6) Or, 24x + 42 = 25x + 35 So, x = 7 So, present age of ‘Amit’ = 4x = (4 × 7) = 28 years Therefore, age of ‘Amit’, 8 years ago from now = (28 – 8) = 20 years
