The respective ratio of the present ages of A and B is

7:6. The present age of C is 10% more than that of B. The sum of the present ages of A, B and C is 98 years. What will be the ratio of the ages of A and B after 12 years?
A 6:7 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 7:6 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 47:42 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 42:47 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let the present ages of A and B be 7x years and 6x years, respectively. Therefore, present age of C = 1.1 × 6 = 6.6x years According to the question, 7x + 6x + 6.6x = 98 19.6x = 98 Or, x = 98/19.6 = 5 Therefore, required ratio = (7x + 12):(6x + 12) = 47:42
