Question
Four years ago, ratio of age of A and B was 1:2. Average
of present age of A, B and C is 32 years. C is 6 years younger than B. What is the present age of B?Solution
Let present age of A = (x + 4) yrs And present age of B = (2x + 4) yrs C’s present age = (2x + 4) - 6 = (2x - 2) yrs According to question, => (x + 4) + (2x + 4) + (2x - 2) = 32 x 3 => 5x + 6 = 96 => 5x = 90 => x = 18 Present age of B = (2x + 4) = 40 years
