    Question

    10 years ago age of A is as old B 5 years ago and Age of

    C after 9 years is 22 years. If present average age of them is 20 years, then find the sum of the ages of A and C, 3 years ago?
    A 35 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 32 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 30 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let present age of A = a, B = b, C = c According to question, => a - 10 = b - 5 => b = a - 5 Age of C after 9 years, => c + 9 = 22 Present age of C = 22 - 9 = 13 Total age of them = 20 Ă— 3 = 60 years Now, a + (a - 5) + 13 = 60 => 2a - 5 = 47 => a = 26 years Required sum = (26 - 3) + (13 - 3) = 33 years
