Exam Pattern
The UBI Specialist Officer selection process comprises of Online Examination/ GD/ Personal Interview. Group discussion can take place along with an Interview if the bank decides to conduct that. The United Bank of India reserves the right to decide whether to use all or any of these modes for selection of the SO post.
The Bank reserves the right to modify the structure of the UBI SO exam pattern for online examination and if such changes are made, they will be intimated through Banks’ official website.
Online Exam
The first stage of the UBI SO exam pattern is a computer based online exam. It consists of four sections of multiple-choice questions with a different number of questions and marks. The multiple-choice questions will consist of sections like - Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Professional Knowledge. The total time duration of the UBI SO online exam is 120 minutes. Further details on the UBI SO exam pattern 2024 can be obtained from the table below.

Interview
The marks obtained by you in the UBI Specialist Officer online exam will be taken into account while preparing the merit list for the Interview / GD phase. You need to secure the minimum qualifying marks as decided by the bank. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks merit list will be prepared on the basis of their Date of Birth i.e. candidates senior in age will be placed higher in the merit list.
The UBI SO exam Interview comprises of 50 marks and various parameters like academic and job knowledge, power of expression, clarity of thought, communication skills and other skills will be used to assess the suitability of the candidate. The minimum qualifying marks for the UBI SO Interview is 25 for the General category and 22.5 for Reserved Category. The calling ratio for the Interview will be 3:1.
Final Selection
The final selection can be done on three basis as mentioned below.
- If Online Examination and Personal Interview
The final merit list will be based on the aggregate marks obtained in the UBI SO Online exam and Personal
- If no Online Exam and only PI
In such case, the final selection will be made through Personal Interview. The final merit will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Personal Interview
- If no Online Exam and Both GD and PI is Conducted
In such case, the final selection will be made through Group Discussion & Personal Interview and the final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained in Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Marking Scheme
There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the UBI SO online exam. For each wrong answer, one fourth or 25% of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty. If a question is left blank, no penal mark or no marks will be allotted.

Exam Language
The UBI Specialist Officer exam for various streams will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi. However, the English Language section will be in English only.
