An SSC Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff will hold a salary of Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission). The Pay band of SSC MTS is 5200 - 20200 and the Grade Pay is of 1800 rupees. It will be a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc.

The SSC Havaldar will also draw a Pay Level-1 salary as per the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission. It is also a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Along with the salary, you will be given various perks and allowances.

SSC MTS Job Profile

An SSC MTS performs duty in the department as Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, and others. An SSC MTS has to perform the following duties.

  • As an SSC MTS staff member, one of the responsibilities includes the maintenance and organization of physical records within the department. This involves ensuring that all files, documents, and records are properly arranged, labeled, and accessible when required.
  • Assist in the operation of routines in workplaces and on the computers, such as a diary, dispatch, etc.
  • SSC MTS personnel provide support in various routine tasks carried out in the workplace, both manually and on computers. This may involve managing diaries, scheduling appointments, handling dispatches, and ensuring smooth operations in day-to-day office activities.
  • They are responsible for couriering or delivering items within and outside the building or office premises. This task may include delivering official documents, packages, or other materials to different locations as required.
  • SSC MTS employees handle photocopying tasks, and making copies of important documents as needed. Additionally, they may be involved in sending and receiving faxes for official communication purposes.
  • For those SSC MTS staff who possess a valid driving license, they may be assigned to drive official vehicles for official purposes, such as delivering documents or transporting personnel.
  • Apart from clerical tasks, SSC MTS personnel may be assigned to perform various non-clerical duties within their designated section or unit. These tasks could be related to the specific requirements of the department.

SSC MTS Career Growth

The career progression of an SSC MTS offers opportunities for growth and advancement within the department. After serving for around 5 to 6 years, an MTS has the chance to be promoted to the position of a Lower Division Clerk (LDC). This promotion is based on their performance and dedication during their tenure.

Furthermore, an MTS can aspire to become an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) by taking promotional exams conducted within the department. Alternatively, there is also the possibility of a default promotion to UDC upon completing the stipulated term of service, provided the employee has demonstrated satisfactory performance. In exceptional cases, an MTS employee may even have the opportunity to retire while holding a Gazetted rank or under the Secretary Level. This indicates that their exemplary service and outstanding contributions have been recognized, leading to a higher rank and responsibility.

The approximate SSC MTS salary ranges from Rs.18,000 to Rs.22,000.
