SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria 2023

SSC follows a set procedure for all its examinations and therefore it maintains fixed SSC MTS eligibility criteria for the candidates who wish to apply for SSC MTS and Havaldar 2023 recruitment. All the interested candidates are meant to follow the SSC MTS eligibility if they want to apply for the exam.

Nationality

To apply for the SSC MTS, you must belong to any one of the following categories. The certificate issued to you (where it is required) must be from the Government of India. A candidate must be:

  • A Citizen of India
  • A subject of Nepal
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
  • OR
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC MTS Educational Criteria 2023 

To apply for SSC MTS 2023 exam, you must possess the mentioned SSC MTS qualification. You should have passed the Matriculation examination or equivalent as on or before February 17, 2023 in order to apply for the SSC MTS exam 2023. Please note that in case you don’t have a certificate and awaiting results, you are not eligible to apply for the exam. Refer to the table below to understand the SSC MTS qulaifications in detail.

SSC MTS Age Criteria 2023 (As on January 01, 2023)

SSC specifies a certain SSC MTS age criteria as well. You have to fall within the specified SSC MTS age limit as on January 01, 2023 in order to apply for the same. Take a look at the table below for more details on the MTS age limit.

  • 18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1998 and not later than 01-01-2005) for MTS.
  • 18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02-01-1996 and not later than 01-01-2005) for Havaldar in CBIC and CBN, Department of Revenue, and few posts of MTS in various departments.

SSC MTS Age Relaxation 2023

Apart from the prescribed age criteria for all the candidates, SSC also provides relaxation in age to reserved categories. The SSC MTS upper age limit may vary according to categories. All the details regarding SSC MTS age relaxation have been mentioned below.

The minimum qualification required to apply for SSC MTS 2023 Examination is matriculation i.e. class 10th.
To apply for the SSC MTS exam, a candidate must be between the age of 18-25 years. For the post of Havaldar, a candidate must be between the age of 18-27 years. However, the upper age limit will be relaxed for those candidates who belong to the reserved categories.
No, the upper age limit to apply for the SSC MTS 2023 exam is 28 years (SSC MTS) and 30 years (Havaldar) for OBC.
The upper age limit for a person belonging to the SC category is 30 years (SSC MTS) and 32 years (Havaldar).
