If you clear the ICAR exam recruitment process conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board or ASRB for filling up the vacancies as Administrative Officer, Finance and Accounts Officers you will be covered in the Level-10 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix. The starting salary of an Administrative Officer, Finance and Accounts Officers will lie between Rs 15600-39100+5400-GP. The ICAR recruitment 2024 consists of three posts- Administrative Officers, Finance and Account Officer. The growth opportunities associated with the posts mentioned above are as follows.
Administrative Officers
Initially appointed as an Administrative Officer in ICAR you will be on probation of two years during which you will undergo various training as prescribed by the ICAR.
- After you have completed 5 years of service as an AO in ICAR you will be eligible to be appointed to the post of Senior Administrative Officer.
- Senior Administrative Officers with five years of service are eligible to be appointed to the post of Deputy Secretary / Chief Administrative Officer.
- Deputy Secretaries / Chief Administrative Officers having five years of service will be eligible to be appointed to the post of Director /CAO (Sr. Grade).
- Director/ CAO (Sr. Grade) with three years of service eligible for consideration to the post of Jt. Secretary/ Jt. Director (Admn.)/ Sr.Registrar.

Finance and Account Officers
Recruited as Finance & Accounts Officer in ICAR, you will be on probation for a period of two years during which you will undergo various training. At present, there are five grades in the combined cadre of ICAR Finance & Accounts Officer.
- Finance & Accounts Officer with 5 years service will be eligible to the post of Senior Finance & Accounts Officer. To get promoted from Finance & Accounts Officer to Senior Finance & Accounts Officer you need to have 5 years of service in Finance & Accounts Officer post.
- Senior Finance & Accounts Officers with five years of service are eligible for appointment to the post of Deputy Director (Finance)/ Chief Finance & Accounts Officer.
- The Deputy Director (Finance) / Chief Finance & Accounts Officer having five years of service is eligible for appointment to the post of Director (Finance) / Comptroller.
