    IBPS SO 2025 Highlights 

    IBPS is inviting applications to fill Specialist Officer posts in Agriculture Field Officer, IT Officer, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, and HR/Personnel Officer streams. Online registration—including any edits or modifications—and payment of application fees (₹175 for SC/ST/PwBD; ₹850 for others) will be open from 1 July 2025 to 21 July 2025. All steps must be completed through IBPS’s website during this window.

    Candidates must be 20–30 years old as on 1 July 2025 (born between 2 July 1995 and 1 July 2005). The two-tier online exam (Preliminary and Main) will be followed by a common interview. Exact dates for call-letter downloads, examinations and interviews will be announced on the IBPS website and here as soon as available.

    The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the much-awaited Specialist Officer notification.

    The online application window runs from July 1, 2025, to July 21, 2025. Be sure to complete your form and pay the fee within these dates.

    The preliminary exam will take place in August 2025. Qualified candidates will sit for the mains in November 2025. Interviews are scheduled for December 2025 or January 2026.

    IBPS SO Online Application 2025

    The online application is the first step in any competitive exam recruitment process. You should not wait for the last date to apply for the IBPS Specialist Officer recruitment 2025 to avoid any last-minute rush.     IBPS SO Vacancy 2025

    The Agriculture Field Officer stream offers a total of 310 vacancies. Of these, 128 posts are unreserved, 82 are for OBC candidates, 46 for SC, 23 for ST and 13 for EWS.

    The HR/Personnel Officer cadre has 10 openings in all. Six of these are unreserved, two are for OBC candidates, one for SC and one for EWS.

    There are 203 IT Officer positions available. Among these, 86 posts are unreserved, 53 for OBC, 30 for SC, 14 for ST and 20 for EWS.

    The Law Officer stream has 56 vacancies: 27 unreserved, 14 for OBC, 7 for SC, 3 for ST and 5 for EWS.

    Marketing Officer is the largest single stream, with 350 posts. This breaks down into 143 unreserved slots, 94 for OBC, 52 for SC, 26 for ST and 35 for EWS.

    Rajbhasha Adhikari has 78 vacancies, of which 39 are unreserved, 19 reserved for OBC, 10 for SC, 3 for ST and 7 for EWS.

     

    In all, the Specialist Officer recruitment cycle features 1,007 vacancies: 429 unreserved, 264 OBC, 146 SC, 69 ST and 81 EWS.

    The IBPS SO preliminary exam is a two-hour online test with 150 questions split into three parts: reasoning, English and a specialist section. Each part has 50 questions. Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari candidates face a banking-awareness paper, while all other Specialist Officer streams get a quantitative-aptitude paper.

    The IBPS SO Mains exam for Law Officer, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer is a 45-minute online test of 60 professional-knowledge questions worth 60 marks, offered in English and Hindi. Rajbhasha Adhikari candidates face two papers: a 30-minute objective professional-knowledge test of 45 questions (60 marks) and a 30-minute descriptive paper with two questions, both in English and Hindi.

    IBPS SO Exam Dates 2025

    IBPS SO Salary 2025

    Specialist Officers recruited under CRP SPL-XV join at Officer Scale I, with the following basic pay structure:

    • Basic Pay: ₹ 48,480

    • Increment:

      • +₹ 2,000 for each of the first 7 years (to reach ₹ 62,480)

      • +₹ 2,340 for each of the next 2 years (to reach ₹ 67,160)

      • +₹ 2,680 for each of the final 7 years (to reach ₹ 85,920)

     

    Officers are also eligible for allowances and perquisites as per the service rules of the Participating Bank to which they are allotted.

    IBPS SO Eligibility Criteria 2025

    Prior to initiating the application process for the Specialist Officer position through IBPS, it's essential to confirm your eligibility for the specific role. Each position has distinct IBPS Specialist Officer eligibility criteria, particularly concerning educational qualifications.
