You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.

Statements: Some pins are needles. All needles

are threads. No thread is a button. Conclusions:I. Some pins are not threads. II. Some needles are buttons. III. No pin is a button. IV. Some buttons are not pins.
A Only I, II and IV follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Only IV follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C All follow Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D None follows Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

Some pins are needles (I) + All needles are threads (A) ⇒ Some pins are threads (I). Hence, conclusion I will not follow. All needles are threads (A) + No thread is a button (E) ⇒ No needle is a button (E). Hence, conclusion II will not follow. Some pins are needles (I) + All needles are threads (A) ⇒ Some pins are threads (I) + No thread is a button (E) ⇒ Some pins are not buttons (O). Hence, conclusion III & IV will not follow.
