sum of ‘x’ and ‘y’ is 250, then what is the value of ‘x – y’?Solution
ATQ,
0.6y – 0.4x = 10 ………… (1)
And, x + y = 250 ……………... (2)
Equation (1) × 2 + Equation (2), we have;
2y = 270
Or, y = 135
So, x = 250 – 135 = 115 [from equation (2)]
