    ATQ,

    0.6y – 0.4x = 10 ………… (1)

    And, x + y = 250 ……………... (2)

    Equation (1) × 2 + Equation (2), we have;

    2y = 270

    Or, y = 135

    So, x = 250 – 135 = 115 [from equation (2)]

    So, x – y = 115 – 135 = –20
