     Since Gi is between Ai and Ei, let us take Ei to the left of Gi and Ai to the right of Gi.  Fi and Ai have one man between them, means Fi is second to the right of Ai (because Ei is second to the left)  Ei and Ci have two men between them, means Ci is between Ai and Fi.  Di is to the immediate right of Fi and Ci and Bi have three men between them. This implies Bi is to the extreme left. Final arrangement is as shown below: From the above arrangement, it is clear that Ei is second from the left. Hence, the correct answer is (C).
