Question
Which combination represents D’s favourite colour and
the subject? Study the following information and answer the following questions: A, B, C, D, E, F and G are seven persons who have viva of three different subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, History such that not less than two persons have the viva of same subject. Each person also likes different colour viz. PINK, Orange, Red, Yellow, BLUE, White, Black but not necessarily in the same order. Each of the person's viva held at different times. A likes White and have a viva of Physics with only one other person who likes Yellow. G had a viva with two other persons. There is only one hour gap between the time of the persons who had a viva of Chemistry and the one who likes Yellow. B’s viva was at 12 PM. F’s viva was at 9 AM. Both the persons who had a viva with G like BLUE and Red but not necessarily in the same order. D has a viva of Chemistry with only one person and does not like Orange. The one whose favourite colour is Black had a viva at 10 AM. G’ viva was at 10 AM. The persons whose favourite colour are Black and PINK have viva at the same time. E had a viva with only one person. The one who likes PINK neither have a viva of Physics nor Chemistry. E does not like Yellow. C does not like Red, BLUE or Orange. A and the one whose favourite colour is Orange have their vivas at 1 PM. C had a viva after D.Solution
G had a viva with two other persons. Both the persons who had a viva with G like BLUE and Red but not necessarily in the same order. G’ viva was at 10 AM. A likes White and had a viva of Physics with only one other person who likes Yellow. D had a viva of Chemistry with only one person and does not like Orange. E had a viva with only one person. E does not like Yellow. It means E had a viva with D. Now it is given that A and the one whose favourite colour is Orange have their vivas at 1 PM. So only two persons may like Orange i.e. E and G but G’s viva was at 10 AM so it is clear that E likes Orange and he has a viva at 1 PM.
