REEBOK? Answer the questions based on the information given below. Eight persons M, N, O, W, X, Y, Z and P are living on four different floors of a building. Ground floor is numbered 1 and top floor is numbered four. There are two flats on each floor- flat-1 and flat-2 from west to east such that flat 1 is west of flat 2. Flat-1 of second floor is exactly above flat-1 of first floor and other flats are placed in the same way. All of them likes different shoes brands i.e. Nike, Bata, Woodland, Puma, Adidas, Reebok, Liberty and Mochi but not necessary in same order. M likes Puma and lives in even number flat. P and Y lives in same flat number. X does not live on second floor. Only one floor gap between the one who likes Liberty and the one who likes Nike. W lives North West of X’s flat. O lives one of the floor below W’s floor. One floor is between P and Y, who likes Mochi The one who likes Bata does not live in even number flat. Z does not live in the same flat number in which X lives. Z lives above X. N lives east of P who lives south of W. the one who likes Adidas lives west of the one who likes Woodland. The one who likes Nike lives above the floor of one who likes Adidas. The one who likes Reebok lives in even number flat.Solution
(i) W lives North West of X’s flat. (ii) X does not live on second floor. (iii) Z does not live in the same flat number in which X lives. Z lives above X. From these statements, we will have six cases: W lives at flat 1 either on floor no. 4 or 3 or 2. X lives at flat 2 on floor no. 1. Z lives at flat 1 on floor no. 4 or 3 or 2. (iv) N lives east of P who lives south of W. P lives at flat 1 of either floor no. 2 or 3. N lives at flat 2 of either floor no. 2 or 3. Case 4 , 5 and 6 will get One floor is between P and Y, who likes Mochi P and Y lives in same flat number. Case 1 and 3 will get discarded as there is no gap of one floor between P and
