The question given below consists of two statements

numbered I and II given below it. You have to decide whether the data provided in the statements are sufficient to answer the question. Read all the statement and answer the question. Six cycles R, S, T, U, V and W are parked in a row facing north direction. Which cycle is immediate left of cycle T? I. V is second to the left of U. Two are to the left of V. R is exactly between T and W. II. S is third to the left of R, who is second to the left of W. T is immediate left of V.
A Data in statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, while data in statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Data in statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question, while data in statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Data given in both the statement I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E Data in statement I and II together are necessary to answer the question. Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

From statement I alone, V is second to the left of U. Two are to the left of V. R is exactly between cycle T and W. So, we have, S         T/W     V         R         U         W/T So, either S or U is immediate left of T. From statement II alone, S is third to the left of R, who is second to the left of W. T is immediate left of V. So, S is immediate left of T. S         T          V         R         U         W        Therefore, statement II alone is sufficient.
