X at 9 AM towards point Y. Another train B starts at 10 AM from point X. If they meet at 12 PM and speed of A is 21 km/hr, while that of B is 36 km/hr. Find distance between X and Y.Solution
Speed of train A = 21 kmph
Speed of train B = 36 kmph
Time taken by train A to meet train B at 12 AM = 3 hrs
Time taken by train B to meet train A at 12 AM = 2 hrs
Distance travelled by train A = 3 × 21 = 63 km
Distance travelled by train B = 2 × 36 = 72 km
Therefore, total distance between X and Y = 63 + 72 = 135 km
