    Question

    A train 200 m long running at 54 km/hr takes 40 seconds

to cross a bridge. The length of the bridge is
A 250 metre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 450 metre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 400 metre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 500 metre Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Speed of train = 54 km/hr = 54 × (5 / 18) = 15 m / sec If the length of bridge be x metre, then ⇒ 15 = (200 + x)/40 ⇒ 200 + x = 600 ⇒ x = 600 – 200 = 400 metre
