15 men × 30 days = 450 Women’s 1-day work = 450/(30× 20) = ¾ work (8 Men + 12 Women)’s 1-day work = 8 +12 × ¾ = 17 Days taken by 8 M and 12 women to finish the work = 450/17 days Alternate Method: 15 Men can do this job in 30 days and 30 women can do this job in 20 days It means 45 men or 60 woemn can do this job in = 10 days So 8 Men and 12 women can do this job in = 10/{8/45 + 12/60} = 10/ {8/45+ 1/5} = 10 /{17/45} = 450 /17
