Question
A person starts jogging from park gate 'A' at 6:30 AM at
a speed of 8 km/h. Another person starts from the same gate at 8:00 AM, jogging in the same direction at 12 km/h. At what time will the second person catch up with the first?Solution
ATQ,
Distance between both joggers when the second starts = 8 × 1.5 = 12 km
Relative speed = 12 − 8 = 4 km/h
Time taken to catch up = 12 / 4 = 3 hours
Required time = 8:00 AM + 3 hours = 11:00 AM
