A biker rode for 3 hours at 80 km/h and then for 2 hours at
60 km/h. Calculate the average speed during the entire ride.Solution
ATQ,
Total distance travelled by the biker = 80 × 3 + 60 × 2 = 240 + 120 = 360 km
Total time taken = 3 + 2 = 5 hours
So, average speed = total distance travelled ÷ total time taken = 360 ÷ 5 = 72 km/h
