    Question

Ravi started jogging from point X at 12 m/s. 10 seconds

later, Sunil began running from the same point in the same direction and managed to catch Ravi in 30 seconds. What was Sunil’s speed?
    A 16 m/s Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 10 m/s Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 11 m/s Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 20 m/s Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E None of these Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    ATQ,

    Distance covered by Ravi in 10 seconds = 12 × 10 = 120 metres
    Relative speed between Sunil and Ravi = 120 ÷ 30 = 4 m/s

Since Sunil caught up, he’s faster.

    So, Sunil’s speed = 12 + 4 = 16 m/s
