Question
A scooter moving at 35 km/hr increased its speed by 5 km/hr after ‘x’ hours and travelled (x + 10) hours more. If it travelled 540 km during those (x + 10) hours, then what was the distance it travelled during the first ‘x’ hours?
Solution
ATQ,
40 × (x + 10) = 540
Or, x + 10 = 13.5
Or, x = 3.5
Therefore, required distance travelled = 35 × 3.5 = 122.5 km
