Question
The ratio of the speeds of Karan and Arjun is 7:5 respectively. Manoj covers a distance of 840 km in 14 hours. If Arjun’s speed is 20% less than Manoj’s speed, how much time will Karan take to cover 672 km?
Solution
ATQ,
Speed of Manoj = 840/14 = 60 km/hr
So, speed of Arjun = 0.8 × 60 = 48 km/hr
Therefore, speed of Karan = (7/5) × 48 = 67.2 km/hr
Therefore, required time = 672/67.2 = 10 hours
