Question
'A' and 'B' are running on a circular track of length
3600 metres. 'A' is running clockwise at 4 m/s while 'B' is running anti-clockwise at 6 m/s. Find the difference between the distance covered by 'A' and 'B' by the time they meet for the tenth time.Solution
ATQ, Time taken to meet for the first time = 3600 ÷ (4 + 6) = 360 seconds So, time taken to meet for 10th time = 360 × 10 = 3600 seconds So, distance covered by 'A' in 3600 seconds = 3600 × 4 = 14400 metres And distance covered by 'B' in 3600 seconds = 3600 × 6 = 21600 metres So, required difference = 21600 - 14400 = 7200 metres
