Question
Given below are two number series
i.e. 'I' and 'II' where the wrong (odd one out) number in each series 'I' and 'II' is 'P' and 'Q', respectively. You have to find the values of 'P' and 'Q' and find which among the given options equals the sum of 'P' and 'Q'. I: 210, 246, 182, 282, 157, 326 II: 12, 26, 81, 328, 1561, 9876
Solution
For series I: 210 + 6² = 246 246 – 8² = 182 182 + 10² = 282 282 – 12² = 138 138 + 14² = 334 Therefore, 138 should come in place of 157 . So, P = 157 For series II: 12 x 2 + 2 = 26 26 x 3 + 3 = 81 81 x 4 + 4 = 328 328 x 5 + 5 = 1561 1645 x 6 + 6 = 9876 Therefore, 1645 should come in place of 1561 . So, Q = 1561 So, P + Q = 157 + 1561 = 1718 Hence, option e.
