Question
There is a wrong term in the series I named 'P' and the
right term which should come at the place of the wrong term is 'Q'. Find the fifth term of series II which follows the same pattern as series I. I. 23, 28, 39, 49, 62, 70 II. (P + Q + 62) , _, _, _, ?Solution
In series I, Sum of the digit of the number is added to the number itself. 23 + 2 + 3 = 28 28 + 2 + 8 = 38 38 + 3 + 8 = 49 49 + 4 + 9 = 62 62 + 6 + 2 = 70 Therefore, 38 should come in place of 39. So, 'P' = 39 and 'Q' = 38 So, first term of the series = (55 + 58) = 113 In series II, P + Q + 62Â = 38 + 39 + 36 = 113 113 + (1 + 1 + 3) = 118 118 + (1 + 1 + 8) = 128 128 + (1 + 2 + 8) = 139 139 + (1 + 3 + 9) = 152 So, the required term = 152
