Question
Rohit, Manish, Suresh, and Arjun were playing a football
match. The ratio of goals scored by Rohit and Manish was 6:9 respectively, while that between Manish and Suresh was 9:4. If Arjun scored 12 goals more than Suresh and Rohit scored 24 goals more than Suresh, then find the ratio of goals scored by Rohit to that of Arjun.Solution
ATQ,
Ratio of the goals scored by Rohit, Manish and Suresh = 6:9:4
Let the number of goals scored by Rohit, Manish and Suresh be 6x, 9x and 4x respectively.
Goals scored by Arjun = 4x + 12
According to question,
6x – 4x = 24
2x = 24
x = 12
So, goals scored by Rohit = 6x = 72
Goals scored by Arjun = 4x + 12 = 48 + 12 = 60
Required ratio = 72/60 = 6:5
