Question
βLβ, βMβ and βNβ rented a shared office space. The landlord charges based on the number of desks used. If βLβ, βMβ and βNβ used 3 desks, 4 desks and 2 desks, respectively and the total monthly rent is Rs. 18000, then find the amount paid by βMβ to the landlord.
Solution
Let the landlord charged Rs. βxβ per desk. Therefore, amount paid by βLβ, βMβ and βNβ is Rs. 3x, Rs. 4x and Rs. 2x, respectively So, 3x + 4x + 2x = 18000 Or, 9x = 18000 So, x = 2000 Rent paid by βMβ = 4x = 4 Γ 2000 = Rs. 8000
