Question
A plot has to be divided among P, Q and R in the ratio
3:5:8 respectively. If the area of plot received by R is 4500m² more than the area of plot received by Q, then find the total area of plot received by P and Q. ÂSolution
Let the area of plot received by P, Q and R be 3x, 5x and 8x respectively. According to the question,  => 5x + 4500 = 8x => 3x = 4500 => x = 4500/3 = 1500 Area of plot received by P and Q together, = 3x + 5x = 8x = 8 x 1500 = 12000m²
