    Question

    The ratio of the volumes of containers A, B, and C is

    5:3:2 respectively. Volume of container D is 7 liters less than that of container A. If the difference between the volumes of container A and container C is 30 liters, what is the ratio of volume of container B to container D?
    A 10:13 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    B 30:43 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    C 20:31 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
    D 13:10 Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    Let volumes be 5x, 3x, and 2x respectively.
    Volume of D = 5x - 7

    ATQ,
    5x - 2x = 30
    Or, 3x = 30
    Or, x = 10

    B = 3 × 10 = 30
    D = 5 × 10 - 7 = 43

    Required ratio = 30:43
