Question
The ratio of the salaries of Amit, Raj, and Dev is
5:6:7 respectively. Sumit’s salary is 10 rupees less than Amit’s. If the difference between Dev and Amit's salary is 30 rupees, find the ratio of Raj’s salary to Sumit’s salary.Solution
Let their salaries be 5x, 6x, and 7x respectively.Â
So, Sumit's salary = 5x - 10
ATQ,Â
7x - 5x = 30Â
Or, 2x = 30Â
Or, x = 15
So, Raj’s salary = 6 × 15 = 90Â
And, Sumit’s salary = 5 × 15 - 10 = 75 - 10 = 65
Required ratio = 90:65 = 18:13Â
