Question
A total of Rs. ‘K’ was to be distributed among X, Y,
and Z in ratio of 6:5:7 respectively but due to some reason the money was falsely distributed in ratio of 5:6:7 respectively such that Y received Rs. 1200 more. Find the value of 2K.Solution
Let the total amount [K] be Rs. 18x
So, amount which Y was supposed to receive = 18x × (5/18) = Rs. 5x
Amount which was actually received by Y = 18x × (6/18) = Rs. 6x
ATQ,
6x - 5x = 1200
⇒ x = 1200
Also,
K = 18x = 18 × 1200 = Rs. 21600
Therefore, required value,
2K = 2 × 21600 = ₹43200
