    Solution

    Let the initial number of males and females in the bus be 7x and 6x respectively

    According to the question,

    (7x – 7 + 4)/(6x – 8 + 24) = 3/4

    Or, 28x – 12 = 18x + 48

    Or, 10x = 60

    Or, x = 6

    Therefore, initial number of males in the bus = 7x = 42
