Question
The ratio of the number of apples with Alok, Bhavesh, and Chirag is 8:6:5 respectively. Dinesh has 6 apples fewer than Alok. If the difference between the apples with Alok and Chirag is 36, then what is the ratio of Bhavesh's apples to Dinesh's apples?
Solution
Let the apples be 8x, 6x, and 5x respectively.Â
Dinesh = 8x - 6
ATQ,Â
8x - 5x = 36Â
Or, 3x = 36Â
Or, x = 12
Bhavesh = 6 × 12 = 72Â
Dinesh = 96 - 6 = 90
Required ratio = 72:90 = 4:5Â Â
