      Let, the cost price of a sofa or a bed = Rs. x Marked price of the sofa = Rs. 1.6x Selling price of the sofa = 1.6x × 0.70 = Rs. 1.12x Marked price of the bed = Rs. 1.4x Selling price of the bed = 1.4x × 0.80 = Rs. 1.12x According to question: 1.12x + 1.12x – 2x = 3600 0.24x = 3600 x = 15000 So the selling price of the sofa = 1.12 × 15000 = Rs. 16,800
