Selling price of the article = 4000 × 0.70 = Rs. 2,800 Let the cost price of the sofa be Rs. 'x' ATQ, x × 1.40 = 2800 ⇒ x = 2800 ÷ 1.40 = Rs. 2,000 So, the cost price of the sofa = Rs. 2,000
