Question
The cost price of two dozen bananas is Rs. 48 after
selling 9 bananas at the rate of Rs. 18 per dozen, the shopkeeper reduced to rate of Rs. 12 per dozen. The percent of loss is?Solution
According to the question, Cost price of 2 dozen Banana = 48 Selling price of 1 dozen banana = 18 Selling price of 18 banana = 27 Now, shopkeeper reduced to the rate Rs. 12/dozen Now SP of 1 dozen bananas = 12 SP of 6 Bananas = 6 ∴ SP of total 24 Bananas is = 27 + 6 = 33 Loss = CP - SP = 48 - 33 = 15 Loss% = 15/48 × 100 = 31.25%
