      Question

The shadow of a tower on ground level is increased by 30

m, when the angle of depression by the sun changes from 60° to 30º. The height of the tower is?
      A 12√3 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      B 17√3 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      C 16√3 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
      D 15√3 m Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

      Solution

      ATQ- Tan 60° = h / x h= √3x  … (1). Tan30° = h/(x+30) 1/√3 =h/x+30 h = (x+30)/√3  … (2) EQ (1) and Eq (2) both are equal. √3x =(x+30)/√3 3x =x+30 2x =30 X=15. Now put the value of x in equation (1). Height =15√3 m.
