      Solution

      (a – b) = 4 + (c + d) -------- (i) (a + b) = 2 + (c - d) -------- (ii) Adding both (i) and (ii) we get, => a – b + a + b = 4 + c + d + 2 + c – d => 2a = 2c + 6 => 2a – 2c = 6 => a – c = 6/2 = 3
