Question
In a party a tank is filled with some quantities of
juice. Three vessels of different volume are used to serve the juice. Volume of the smallest vessel is 20% less than volume of second largest vessel and the volume of second largest vessel is 16.66% less than volume of the largest vessel. If 5 times the juice is served by largest vessel, 8 times juice is served by second largest vessel and finally when 3.75 times juice is served by the smallest vessel, the tank gets emptied completely. Find the total quantity of juice served by second largest vessel is what percent of volume of the tank?Solution
Let volume of largest vessel = 6x litres Volume of second largest vessel = 6x × (5/6) = 5x litres Volume of smallest vessel = 5x × 80% = 4x litres According to question: = 5 × 6x + 8 × 5x + (15/4) × 4x = 30x + 40x + 15x = 85x litres Required percentage = (40x/85x) × 100 = 47.05%
