There are 720 students (boys + girls) in a school. Number of boys are 40% more than number of girls. If 25% of the girls are from class 10, then find the number of girls from class 10.
Solution
Let number of girls in the school be 'x' So, number of boys in the school = 1.40 × x = '1.40x' ATQ: 1.40x + x = 720 Or, 2.40x = 720 So, x = 300 So, number of girls in the school = 300 So, number of girls from class 10 = 300 × 0.25 = 75
